Hi neighbors,
As you begin thinking about voting for a member of your City Council, I'd like you to know why I am running for this seat on the City Council and asking for your vote. The short answer for this is that I want to advance and protect our unique quality of life and our special sense of community we all enjoy as citizens in Fair Oaks Ranch.
I listened and learned a lot during my 10 consecutive years as a volunteer with the Planning & Zoning Commission, Home Rule Charter Committee experiences, and attending many City Council meetings over the years.
If elected, I will continue supporting City's financial responsibilities. This is a big responsibility and I commit to support the city’s sound track record of fiscal management such as making sound fiscal decisions that ensure the city remains financially healthy, with funds allocated for essential services.
I will also work together with City Council to manage city growth in a responsible manner. Anyone who is knowledgeable and who is being honest with you will tell you that no one can halt all growth. City experience matters and I feel that I am the best-qualified candidate to represent your interests on the City Council. Because, both my professional background and 10 consecutive years of volunteer service to our city have prepared me to be the best-qualified candidate to represent your interests.
Professionally, I am a 30-year self-employed Texas real estate broker. A former Fair Oaks Ranch business owner-operator. You may have seen my office next to Fischer's Market (formerly Nooner's Market) for 15 years. During my career I have brokered, negotiated, researched, underwritten, acquired, disposed, entitled, and vetted hundreds of land development projects from the Rio Grande Valley to Georgetown to Corpus Christi, to Laredo and many cities of all sizes in between. During this time I've met with hundreds of land developers reviewing and listening to their plans and ideas. I have personal experience in both residential and commercial land developments. I look forward to working with the City Council and contributing to the conversations about both managing our growth and dealing with developers who want to develop in our city, if elected.
As a city volunteer, I proudly served on an 11-person committee that in 2016-2017 wrote our City Charter. It was an honor to meet and work alongside 10 fellow neighbors. Their combined insight, knowledge, leadership, and volunteerism was priceless and continues to pay dividends to citizens every day.
The Home Rule Charter was required to move us from being a General Law City where the State sets all the rules ... to now a Home Rule Charter City where we the citizens make our own rules about how to manage our city's growth.
I also assisted with the establishment of the volunteer-staffed organizations like our Planning and Zoning (P&Z) Commission that is the necessary infrastructure to be able to manage our growth. The Planning and Zoning Commission acts as an advisory group to the City Council. P&Z listens to developers intentions and plans and asks them questions and/or makes comments . Then P&Z makes suggestions and/or recommendations based on their intentions to the City Council to consider. P&Z reviews the pertinent items listed below with developers required and discretionary land use matters associated with the following:
My professional career preparation, City insight, and my 10-year history of volunteer service to our City sets me apart as a candidate. I humbly ask for your vote and commit to you and all residents of Fair Oaks Ranch best interest.
Dale
We came back home to Texas to settle in Fair Oaks Ranch in 2009. LIke you, our family fell in love with the city, the neighbors, the unique lifestyle, amenities, Military Veterans, schools, consistently a top tier rated safe city in Texas, excellent Police and Fire/EMS departments, and of course our very special sense of community we all enjoy. My wife Donna is an educator who taught in Boerne ISD for almost a decade, and then at a private school in San Antonio for students with learning differences. Our daughters, Caroline and Paulina, both attended Boerne schools throughout their education with Caroline graduating from Champion High School in 2017 and Paulina graduating in 2021 from The North East School of the Arts (NESA) at Legacy of Educational Excellence (LEE) High School, NESA. Our oldest daughter Caroline graduated with Honors from the University of Houston in Psychology and pursued her master’s degree in applied Child & Adolescent Psychology at the University of Washington/Seattle. She is now a child and adolescent therapist in private practice in Bellevue, Washington. Paulina is a senior Journalism major in the Moody College of Communications at the University of Texas at Austin. She will be walking the stage with Honors this May 2025.
